Invisible vehicle armor

Paint Protection Film (PPF) is a clear, durable urethane film applied to your vehicle’s painted surfaces to protect against rock chips, scratches, road debris, and environmental damage. Virtually invisible once installed, PPF preserves your car’s original finish while maintaining its shine and value.

Why Paint Protection

In the Boynton Beach and South Florida area, paint protection generally falls into two categories: Paint Protection Film (PPF/Clear Bra) for impact defense and Ceramic Coating for chemical and UV defense.

Protect Against Chips and Scratches

PPF creates a durable barrier that absorbs impacts from rocks, road debris, and daily wear—keeping your paint safe from damage.

Self-Healing Technology

Minor scratches and swirl marks disappear with heat, helping your vehicle maintain a smooth, flawless finish over time.

Preserve Value and Save Money

Avoid costly paint repairs and keep your vehicle looking newer longer, helping maintain higher resale value.

FAQs

What is the difference between PPF and Ceramic Coating?

This is the #1 question in the industry. PPF (Paint Protection Film): A thick, clear urethane film. Its primary job is to stop physical damage like rock chips, scratches, and road debris. Many PPFs are "self-healing," meaning minor swirls disappear when exposed to heat (like the sun). Ceramic Coating: A liquid polymer that bonds with the paint. Its primary job is environmental protection—making the car incredibly glossy, hydrophobic (water-beading), and resistant to bird droppings, acid rain, and UV rays. The Bottom Line: Ceramic coatings cannot stop rock chips; only PPF can do that.

Can I do both?

Yes, and it’s the "Gold Standard" of car care. Most enthusiasts apply PPF to the high-impact areas (front bumper, hood, mirrors) and then apply a ceramic coating over the entire car—including the film. This gives you the impact protection of the film with the easy cleaning and "wet look" of the coating.

How long do they last?

PPF: 7 to 10 years. Most premium brands (like XPEL or STEK) come with a 10-year warranty against yellowing or cracking.Ceramic Coating: 2 to 5 years, depending on the grade of the coating and how well you maintain it.Paint Sealants: 4 to 6 months. These are the budget-friendly "pro" version of wax.

What is "Self-Healing" film?

It sounds like sci-fi, but it’s real. High-end PPF has an elastomeric top coat. If you get light swirl marks from washing the car, the molecules in the film will "flow" back into their original shape when they get warm. You can literally pour hot water on a scratched-up section and watch the scratches vanish.

Will it change how my car looks?

Gloss PPF: Virtually invisible if tucked properly into the edges. Matte/Stealth PPF: This is a popular "two-for-one" mod. It protects your car while giving your glossy factory paint a deep, frosted matte look.Ceramic Coating: Makes the paint look "deeper" and shinier than the day it left the showroom.
